It is my privilege to present the Centre for Mangrove Conservation and Restoration (CMCR), an initiative of REEF committed to safeguarding mangrove ecosystems. CMCR focuses on conserving, restoring, and sustainably managing mangroves crucial for coastal protection and biodiversity. Mangroves play a vital role in climate resilience, shoreline stability, and supporting coastal livelihoods. Through scientific research, blue carbon studies, and field-based restoration, we address the degradation of these fragile habitats. Our programmes integrate conservation with community participation and capacity building. We aim to strengthen ecological balance through innovation and long-term monitoring. We invite researchers, institutions, and stakeholders to collaborate in this mission. Together, we strive to protect and restore our mangrove heritage for future generations.
