About Us

Centre for Mangrove Conservation and Restoration (CMCR)

The Centre for Mangrove Conservation and Restoration (CMCR) is a dedicated initiative of the Research and Education for Environmental Foundation (REEF), established to protect, restore, and sustainably manage mangrove ecosystems along vulnerable coastal regions. CMCR plays a vital role in enhancing coastal resilience, conserving biodiversity, and supporting climate change mitigation through nature-based solutions.

Our work integrates scientific research, blue carbon studies, habitat restoration, and ecological monitoring with strong community participation and stakeholder engagement. We strive to bridge the gap between science and practice by promoting awareness, capacity building, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for coastal communities.

CMCR envisions a future where mangrove ecosystems thrive as natural shields for coastlines while contributing to global environmental sustainability and ecological balance. Through collaboration, innovation, and responsible stewardship, we remain committed to safeguarding these critical ecosystems for generations to come.
